Was looking for some Nashvillle bbq while I was in town and the Peg Leg Porker was close to my hotel. I ordered a half rack of ribs with coleslaw and potato salad $19. Coleslaw was a little dry, potato salad had more dill than I prefer. I didn't know what to expect for the ribs-- it's a dry rub, and there's mild bbq sauce available if you want. I ate it dry as served and it was cooked excellently. Meat just fell off the bone. I finished up and would have been content with just the ribs. I reexamine the menu for dessert options and the fried pie stood out ($5). Reviews online rave about this, so I went with apple, plus ice cream (+$2). It was good but even sweeter than I expected. Worth trying once at least!

We each had the pulled pork platter w/ 2 sides. The sides we got were the Mac & cheese, French fries, coleslaw, & potato salad: it was all delicious! The bbq sauce was awesome, & not too sweet or spicy. The refrigerator pickles or kool aid pickles were one of my favorite things there. Actually all of it was my favorite. Get the banana pudding!! You won't regret it!! We got our food quickly. The attendants were quick to ask if we needed anything. It is a big room. Not really a place for a romantic dinner. Why are you still reading??? Go eat!

This is still our go-to BBQ joint in Nashville, even though it means engaging in the soul-crushing parking and traffic nightmare known as The Gulch. We've tried many, and it's just the best. Come here if you want classic, old-school, authentically Tennessee-style barbecue. In other words, dry-rubbed, slow-smoked pork or chicken, with two types of delicious sauce to use at the table, and some perfectly executed traditional BBQ sides -- slaw, baked beans, green beans, mac'n'cheese. (Those green beans are really something special.) This is not the sticky gooey sauce-slathered meat your dad charred over briquettes on his backyard Weber. This is not Texas BBQ, so no brisket or tri-tip. This is basic, downhome, family run. It's the real deal. For those who partake, there's also a great selection of ice cold local beers on tap. Top it all off with friendly service, a great patio when the weather suits, and Bob's your uncle. Bonus: You can get their sauces in bottles to take home. It's delicious. We always keep some on hand and gift it to out-of-towners.

Some of the best BBQ I have ever had. Their speciality is the dry rub ribs and they were the most delicious thing we ordered. Another favorite for us was the green beans, but truthfully everything was beyond scrumptious. The service is a general BBQ setting of ordering when you get inside and them calling your name when your order is ready. We sat outside in a nice shaded area but there is also general indoor and bar seating. Wouod 100% come back!

Service was friendly and helpful. Cashier was great. First off, I think this is very good for what it's supposed to be. However, I don't think I am a fan of Tennessee style bbq. Dry rub wings - Delicious, fall off the bone, huge. These are a must get Pulled pork - I don't usually like pulled pork. But I liked this. May be a touch bland for most but very moist. He's sauce if you need. Kielbasa - way too much seasoning on it. I love kielbasa, I hated this. Threw it away. Jalapeño cheddar sausage - Delicious. The best meat they made. Ribs - this is their signature. Fall off the bone. Good structure. I just don't like the taste. But I think it's more me than them. Yardbird - Delicious, moist, fall off the bone. They give you this sauce that is too sweet but I am sure many will like it. Potato salad - this is really good Bbq beans - Ok. No big deal. Overall this place is good. But not my taste. Standard bbq restaurant ambience. Feels clean.

I just don't think barbecue can get much better than this, and this is coming from someone who is NOT an avid BBQ eater but has been to spots all over the south. They are FAST and efficient after you order, their prices are incredibly reasonable and I loved every item they had to offer. In particular, their ribs, mac n cheese and coleslaw are divine.... but do not sleep on their jalapeño cheddar sausage, it was my favorite item on my plate! It's been quite a while since I was first here and I noticed no drop-off in quality whatsoever, and all of my friends raved about their meals as well.

Dry-rub barbecue is the specialty here. I had never tried dry-rubbed ribs before, and I think I'm in love! I never even thought to ask for sauce, but I think they do provide sauce, if you want some. The menu is pretty succinct: dry-rubbed meats, sides, a couple of desserts. There's a bar at the other end of the restaurant if you want a beer or cocktail. I got the half rack of ribs with two sides, and I chose mac & cheese and slaw. I was told that the mac & cheese is the thing to get here, and yes, it is! The mac & cheese is super creamy and made with large shell pasta, sprinkled with a bit of pepper. It was amazing. I visited with a group, and we ordered a bunch of sides for the table. I demanded the Kool-Aid pickles, which are pickle spears soaked in cherry Kool-Aid. I don't even like pickles, but I needed to get this abomination of a side. And you know what? The Kool-Aid pickles were good! They tasted like pickles, but were a nice reddish color. We also got the pimento cheese, which came with a literal sleeve of saltines still in the plastic package. And the Memphis Sushi, which is a platter if kielbasa sausage circles served with rectangles of cheddar cheese, saltines and pepperocinis. I saw banana pudding on the menu, and I had to get that. I love a good banana pudding, and this one is great. It's served with whipped cream and a Nilla wafer on top. It's a great way to end a great southern barbecue meal.
